Divers' miracle escape from great white

A Great White shark breaks through a dive cage in South African waters. Footage: Bryan Plummer/youtube *Language warning

BRYAN Plummer tried shark diving on March 21st for the first time in Gansbaai, South Africa. He caught a very big fish....on his phone.

While Bryan’s newly married friends prepared to plunge the depths in a shark cave, Bryan took video of them joking around – but surprising them, a great white shark appears out of the blue and begins to barrel towards the cage.

the bait used to lure the shark proves pointless as the great white spears its head through the metal gaps of the cage, thrashing around in search of bigger game.

The terrified divers had to duck below to keep out of reach of some very wide open jaws.

Shark cage attack

The great white approaches the shark diving cage.

Bryan Plummer apologises for any profanities on the film, but says the attack was "an out of control situation".

Lucky for newly-wed diver Roger and his wife, the shark left the cage without a morsel of man flesh.

Fisherman hooks Great White Shark

A fisherman got more than he bargained for when he went out fishing in the US

FAB Marchese has the best fishing story ever. Last Friday he hooked a Great White Shark. And he has the video to prove it.

Mr  Marchese  fought the 1360 kilogram shark for nearly three and a half hours holding the rod against his abdomen.

"Just the vision of seeing that head," Mr Marchese said. "Like, it was massive! That's what I'm going to remember the most."

Mr Marchese said he though he just had to hang on to the shark no matter what.

"Just hold on, yeah hold on and fight," said Marchese. "I wanted to see it right up close."

Joe Maisano with Go Fast Fishing Charters in Treasure Island was stunned when he saw what was on the end of Mr Marchese’s line.

"About four hours into the fishing trip and then big mama showed-up and wanted to play."

"Only a couple species of sharks get that big," Mr Maisano said. "Great hammerheads, tiger sharks, and the great whites are the only three that will get up there that big."

The only problem with hooking such a big catch is that it’s going to be hard to beat it.

"Yeah, this is like a dream come true basically," Mr Marchese said. "You never think something like this is going to happen. It's just like, how am I going to top this now?"
