A MOTORCYCLIST is fighting for his life after he was hit by a car while trying to help an injured koala on the Gold Coast last night.
Police said the man was on Guineas Creek Rd, Tallebudgera, when he got off his bike to help the animal about 7pm.
While retrieving the koala from the roadway, the 29-year-old Tugun man was struck by a car and seriously injured.
Ambulance crews rushed the man to Gold Coast Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
The female driver of the car was not physically injured.
