DETECTIVES are awaiting the final results of the autopsy of toddler Kyhesha-Lee Joughin in the hope it will give answers to her desperate family.

The three-year-old was found dead at her Petrie home north of Brisbane late last month, unable to be revived despite her father's CPR attempts.

Superintendent Tony Duncan identified a number of issues that contributed significantly to the death of the girl but said investigators were yet to finalise a written report.

But the family, including mother Danielle Joughin, are waiting in limbo for answers.

"Kyhesha-lee, My heart it aches everyday knowing your (sic) no longer here to stay,i wish i could hold you just one last time to tell you i love you and to stay strong,'' she recently posted on Facebook.

"Our time together was short but will never be forgotten as you are my daughter.''

Her father, Matthew Williamson, had sole custody of the three-year-old.

Police said the investigation was still ongoing but could not confirm any further information over the 44-year-old man who made the initial call to police the day Kyhesha-Lee was found dead at her Old Dayboro Road home.

The man was stopped during a routine traffic check near Grafton, close to the Queensland border.
