TRAIN services are returning to normal after cancellations and extensive delays on the southern and western lines earlier today.
Metro Trains reports services on the Cranbourne, Frankston and Pakenham lines are still delayed by up to 20 minutes after multiple faults in Caulfield.
"The signal problems affecting the Pakenham, Frankston and Cranbourne lines have been repaired. However, delays will be ongoing as we catch up," Metro announced on Twitter earlier.
Werribee and Williamstown trains have been delayed by 10 minutes due to the faults.
In addition, some trains on the Belgrave, Lilydale and Alamein lines were cancelled and others delayed by 10-15 minutes due to a signal fault on the Burnley to Camberwell stretch.
