IT was the question that left Neil Perry lost for words. So which foods does he never, ever put onto the menu for Qantas?
Perry is the celebrity chef behind all Qantas' on board menus. Most recently he has redesigned the business class bites for all cross-continent routes to Perth.
His menu includes warm cherry tomato and oregano tart and a delicious hot smoked salmon salad with green tea noodles and sesame soy dressing.
What it won't ever include is Jerusalem artichokes.
Those, Perry said, make you flatulent. That's one thing you do not want in a confined space.
Perry said he also avoids beans and any kind of pulse or lentils.
"If they are slightly firm they don't digest properly and they create wind," Perry said.
Instead Perry uses grains in his menus - they are much easier on the stomach and the nose.
Are there any foods that make you flatulent when flying? Tell us below. Nicely please.
