POLICE have issued a public safety warning after a suspected pipe bomb was discovered at a car dealership on the Gold Coast this morning.
Police were called about 8.30am to the car dealership in Robina near Christine Avenue.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said a suspicious looking item, possibly a pipe bomb, had been found.
Police have initiated the public safety declaration act and are asking people to stay away from the area while they investigate the situation.
The Crestway, Christine Avenue and the western side of the loop road to Brabham Circuit are affected.
Fire crews and ambulances are on standby.
