WATER police have located a boat and five people missing off the Coast of Moreton Island.
Police were contacted about 8am by the daughter of one of the people on board after she received a distressing phone call from her mother advising her they had run out of fuel and couldn't get back to Tangalooma.
Police sent out a search crew assisted by the Channel News helicopter and located the boat at Bullwer at the northwest tip of Moreton Island.
It is believed two families including three men were and two men were on board the boat.
Police are now working to return the boat to Moreton Bay.
