A MOLENDINAR family say they are terrified of carparks after a road rage incident yesterday in which a woman allegedly struck their son with her four-wheel-drive.
Jorel Easthope, 26, was taken to Gold Coast Hospital yesterday afternoon after he was allegedly struck by the vehicle outside Harbour Town about 12.30pm.
Mr Easthope said he had to push his younger siblings, Alexander, 9, and Guinivere, 8, out of the way of the driver when she drove straight for his family at the shopping centre's southern car park.
Police confirmed they were investigating the incident and would question the woman.
The victim's father, Leonard, spoke exclusively to the Bulletin after the incident, saying he was horrified the woman had sped straight at his children.
"We got the car park first ... parked, then she blocked me in and started screaming and yelling, calling me all sorts of names," Mr Easthope said.
"My wife and son got out with the kids and started walking down the car park. She drove past and stopped about 20m away, then reversed straight into my son and hit him on the arm."
Mr Easthope said police checked his son for fractures and cleared him.
