A CYCLIST has died after falling from his bike and being run over by an oncoming truck southwest of Melbourne, police believe.
Investigators are currently at the scene in Wharf Road, Corio, about 70km from the CBD, where it is alleged the cyclist fell onto the road around 9am.
"A truck and trailer, travelling in the same direction, struck the fallen cyclist," Victoria Police spokeswoman Creina O’Grady said.
The male cyclist died at the scene.
