BACK at work? Hate the train ride? It's not just you. Don't bother telling off the man who is picking his nose. A survey has found that passengers know they are annoying. But they don't really care.
The survey of 2000 people completed by O2 Money found eight out of ten Britons admit they can be annoying on the train - by playing music too loud through headphones and leaving bags on seats.
WHAT ANNOYS YOU? Keep the conversation going in our comments section below.
Thirty per cent of people admitted they fall asleep and snore. Twenty per cent regularly read other people's newspapers over their shoulder and 25 per cent admit that they put their bag on the seat next to them to stop other people sitting there.
Also high up on the list of annoying train habits were nose-pinching odours, drunks and people who over-share at the top of their voices.
Passengers who do these things know they are wrong. But it seems the train is a dog-eat-dog world where normal rules of behaviour change.
One in four people surveyed confessed they don't have anywhere near the consideration for other passengers they should do. We think that figure should actually be higher.
James Le Brocq, spokesman for O2 Money said: "Many of us travel on a train from time to time and see things that niggle us - it's always worth a quick check to make sure you're not the one doing something that would niggle someone else.
"Peace and quiet and personal space are of course things we all like and we can take offence when we don't get those things, while someone not freeing up a seat or lacking consideration can be seen as rude.
