IF YOU find it tricky to wriggle your way into the lavatory on a plane without brushing against the dirty toilet seat then get ready for even more of a battle.
A new design by aircraft interior manufacturer B/A Aerospace lets airlines squeeze in an extra row of seats, by reducing the space in the lavatory.
The move may be a wee bit annoying for passengers. It means the standard 3ft by 3ft (0.9m by 0.9m) economy class lavatory will become a luxury of the past.
Delta Air Lines will be among the first to have the smaller lavatory, and those 737-900s will get an extra four seats due to the sacrifice.
The airline claims the new toilets will only be a “tiny bit” smaller as the space is taken from the wall behind the sink and an exterior wall is sculpted so the seats in front of it can recline.
What a bummer.
