Man hands himself to police

A MAN has been charged with murder following the death of a 57-year-old Winchelsea man yesterday.

Matthew Drayton, 23, also of Winchelsea, faced an out-of-session’s court hearing at Geelong police station this evening.

It comes after he handed himself in to police this afternoon and was quizzed by homicide squad detectives.

The deceased man was found in an Armytage St property around 4.15pm after police were called to conduct a welfare check.

Mr Drayton has been remanded in custody and will face Geelong Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
