A YOUNG teenager has gone missing with police concerned for her safety due to the extreme heat expected today.
Gemma Abraham, 14, from Ballarat, was last seen near Mt Wallace Hall, in Mt Wallace, at 2.30am today.
She left home without taking any of her belongings and was last seen wearing a white singlet, shorts and thongs.
"Police have concerns for her welfare due the hot weather forecast for the next 24 hours," a Victoria Police statement read.
The police air wing is currently conducting a search between Fiskville and Mt Wallace.
She is described as Caucasian, 170cm tall with long, dark hair and slim build.
Anyone with any information about Gemma’s whereabouts is asked to contact 000 immediately.
