MAKING the mundane magnificent, the exhibit highlighting the beauty of the trains is taking a journey around the country.

From peak-hour traffic to hours spent waiting on platforms its sometimes easy to forget the romance of the great train journeys.

The Powerhouse Museum in Sydney is celebrating trains in all their glory with their third annual international photography competition.
