THEY'RE stuck in a thin metal tube, thousands of metres above the earth, circling as they wait for a landing slot at Brisbane Airport - and you can watch them wait.
The map, which uses FlightRadar24, shows planes over south-east Queensland and if you click on one you can see their flight path.
Those which have been put in holding patterns have circular flight paths - with some making a number of circuits before being allowed to land.
The worst delays at Brisbane Airport are in the early evening - as more flights from interstate and overseas approach the Brisbane gateway.
